About

According to the inscription, Yonghwasa Temple was built in 1902. Legend has it that seven stone Buddha statues appeared in a dream that Eombi, the consort of King Gojong, asked her to build a house for them. He sent someone to find a stone statue in the northwestern stream of Cheongju. Then the Yonghwasa Temple was built, with seven Buddha statues enshrined in the Mireukbojeon Hall in this temple.
