Since its establishment in 1978 with the goal of promoting Korean studies and national culture, the Academy of Korean Studies has accumulated extensive research achievements in the fields of humanities and social sciences on Korean history and culture. We also operate the Graduate School of Korean Studies to educate the next generation of Koreanists. Our esteemed Jangseogak Archives and Library of Korean Studies serve to collect and hold vast amounts of important materials on both premodern and modern Korean studies.
